Andrei Pitis

With over 25 years of experience in the IT industry in Romania and United States, Andrei Pitiș is VP of Engineering and Head of the Fitbit Bucharest .
Andrei graduated from Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Faculty of Computer Science and passionately started working in the software industry early on from his first year of study.
As an entrepreneur, Andrei founded his first business in his early 20s by launching a software outsourcing company for US based IT enterprises, while also being actively involved in the dot-com phenomenon. In the same time, he also founded a Silicon Valley based start-up together with two other partners. In 2005, he started working for IXIA, a leading provider of performance test systems for IP-based infrastructure and services operating in over 30 countries worldwide. Within IXIA, he held the position of Romania Country Manager until 2010.
In 2013, Andrei founded Vector Watch with the objective of delivering a disruptive product to the global (smart)watches market. The company was acquired by Fitbit in 2017. He is also a strategic investor, one of his latest exists being the exit from Clever Taxi. Andrei is also actively involved in the support and development of mentorship & financing programs from young tech teams, such as Innovation Labs.
